Drumming and Movement Workshop
Saturday, October 12, 2:00-3:30 PM
Participants will be led through movement activities and exercises that will help them discover their kin-aesthetic sense. They will apply this new information to drumming and explore rhythms on their percussion instrument of choice with a new sense of ease. Participants are encouraged to bring a drum; however, instruments will be supplied if needed.
*Best suited for Ages 14 and up. Participants can opt to bring a drum and will need to bring a yoga mat. No experience is needed to sign up!
DAVID OROMANER is an alumnus of The Collective School of Music in NYC and also holds a bachelor's degree from University at Albany and a Masters in Education from Touro College in New York, and is a recipient of the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. Some of the diverse artists David has performed with include Max Bennett, Llew Matthews (Nancy Wilson), Bob Quaranta (Mongo Santamaria), Mambo NYC, Emma Larsson, PJ Loughran, and Changing Modes. David is currently recording and producing with the jazz/rock fusion trio, Outside Pedestrian. As a drumming instructor David specializes in technique and coordinated body movements. David is currently studying to teach the Alexander Technique in Chicago, IL. David started the training course at ACAT-NYC.
